Bookmarking Has Never Been More Delicious

Jak's back with article II. of blogging basics. In article I. information was presented how to build a virtual office. This article takes the next logical step, for any online business to succeed. Listing to many other websites are a must for survival when working in an online environment. This means accessibility, management and organization of web pages are crucial. Lastly if our virtual office is independent from any particular computer, as mentioned in article I. shouldn't our book-marking site too? Thank god the answer is truly delicious.

Delicious is a favorites webpage manager. Whatever sties one uses or would need, can be stored on an online profile of your making. Basically one creates a profile, which allows them to save favorite webpages on a profile. Advantages to this method are the filing system. It uses a keyword index custom tailored by any individual e.g. marketing tools, blogs, etc. Theses labels give the user the ability to call up groups of webpages quickly. Personally on my Delicious account I label book marks with normal relevance to content e.g. for a news site it could be, news, online, etc. and I place one extra tag that classifies a set of tags for me e.g. news, online, John Doe news. This way if I type John Doe news I filter out all other pages except John Doe news. Remember to make the keywords reflective of the content on the page.

The last feature is an added benefit. Delicious is a social site as well. Meaning the user can make public their bookmarks to an open forum. Allowing the user to share interesting or useful Websites with others. This can help tremendously in a job environment where a group of people can benefit from webpages shared among them. Also if others find your pages of interest this could eventually be another source of traffic back to a personal webpage. People may want your opinion based on the type of bookmarks you are finding.

Delicious makes all the parts that drive an online business easily accessible, e.g. Social sites, forums, etc, remember Delicious is an online service therefore can be accessed anywhere there is an Internet connection. If your computer crashes or is forgotten, no problem your office and business are independent of your computer. This makes life truly delicious.
