5 Ways to Get Started With Social Bookmarking

More and more people are turning to social bookmarking to find information, connections, and more. Here are 5 steps to get you started with social bookmarking, and how you can take advantage of this great connection to people with common interests.

Step 1: Use Keywords Carefully

This is one of the ways a bookmark is categorized, and is one of the most important steps to fast social bookmarking. You need to use common keywords that make sense and are only a few words long.

Step 2: Tags

Although much bookmarking is done by keyword phrases, tags are how the majority of it is done. Tags help organize the search results by relevance. The proper tag tells the search engine how close the match is.

Step 3: Categorize

Even though your particular bookmark system may not sort things this way, knowing your category--like recipes, hobbies, science, etc.--can help you prepare the right takes for your own bookmarks. Keep them simple and clean, and don't use too many.

Step 4: Topics and Titles

If you bookmark by topic, you will be using a combination of category and keyword strategies that will become a title for your bookmark. Fast social bookmarking depends on easy access.

Step 5: Maintaining Relevance of Your Bookmark

Remember that you are probably going to be among spammers. Bookmarking has no regulation and is sometimes a free-for-all. Keep your fast social bookmarking current and relevant so you don't have to keep up with spam.

Smart Habits to Social Bookmarking

Have you resorted to tagging your own web site to build up traffic on it? O have you asked your friends to socially bookmark your site on their own personal machines to add up in the building of traffic on your own site? Have resorted to paying some social bookmark sites to generate visits on your site? Well, if you have not, then it is time for you to perform such social boomarking actions. After all, the purpose of social bookmarking is to generate money out of building traffic. Below are some ways on how you can perform social bookmarking on your own site to drive at traffic.

o Let social bookmarking crawl like any other links. When a person socially bookmarks your site on their end, what happens is that you allowed your site to be publicly visible on anyone who visits that site. In that way, you are allowing your site to crawl into other people's sites thereby increasing the potential of your site to be visited.

o When you have established the visitors on your site, allow for a repeat visit from them. Allowing for a re visit from these people only means one thing - they found something on your site that they are interested with. Given this fact, it is presumed that one understands that for a re visiting to happen, you need to give them the reason to keep coming back. Give them the information that they need and a guaranteed come back is at hand.

Seven Social Bookmarking Tips For Webmasters

In an earlier article, I listed five ways for a webmaster such as yourself to benefit from the social bookmarking wave. I explained exactly how your website can benefit from:

- Repeat visitors

- Viral social bookmarking

- Viral linking

- SEO-friendly links (from social bookmarking sites)

- SEO-friendly links elsewhere (as a result of links on social bookmarking sites)

Now let's look at what steps you, as a webmaster, can take to increase your website's benefits from social bookmarking.

MAKE IT EASY for your visitors to social bookmark your website.

This means offering them as many options as possible. You might want to use a multi-bookmarking service, such as the free script that I developed called TheBookmarketer.

It also means making the bookmarking links easy to find, usually at the top of the page or at the base of an article.

BOOKMARK YOUR PAGES yourself. Yes, this means signing up for accounts at several bookmarking services. Choose as many or as few as you wish, but remember that when it comes to marketing your website, the more venues the better.

Do I have to remind you to call your mother? This would be an excellent time..."Hi mom, How are you doing? Yes, I know it's been a while...by the way, do you Digg?" Don't be shy; ask family and friends to social bookmark your pages, too.

SWAP BOOKMARKS with others who also want their pages bookmarked. For instance, if you search Google for "Grab The Bookmarketer For Your Site", you will find other websites that are actively courting social bookmarks. All you have to do is offer to bookmark some of their pages if they bookmark some of yours. It's a lot like a link exchange, except that it plays out on other websites. Now some social bookmarkers look askance at such joint ventures, and some even think that webmasters should not be promoting their websites at all.

PARTICIPATE in the social bookmarking site. There are some services that don't feature much participation; others are very participatory. Where you have the option, develop a large friend's list, so that you can easily share bookmarks. Bookmark, tag or comment on others' bookmarks. Being a good citizen gives a person credibility in the community...even the online community.

BOOKMARK OTHER PAGES that already link to your website. Don't just bookmark your own pages; bookmark those that link to yours. Choose especially pages that are relevant, that do not compete directly with yours and that list very few of your competitors. Let's face it, if traffic to all those pages goes up, so does traffic to your website. And if link value goes up to all those pages, so does link-value to your website.

IF YOU HAVE A LIST, ask them to bookmark any new page on your website that you want to generate traffic to. And speaking of new pages...

HAVE OUTSTANDING CONTENT. If your content doesn't stand out, the best you can do is your own contrived bookmarking. Sure, that can help, but it's nothing compared to the power of thousands of people bookmarking your web pages because they think it's just awesome!

All the social bookmarking and SEO tactics you employ can massively help to market your website, but without great content your chances of success are pretty slim. Put up the content, make it easy for people to social bookmark your website, bookmark some of your own pages and encourage anybody you know to do likewise.

Quick Social Bookmarking

Well first of all, what is this social bookmarking? It could be understood as a site that allows you to post your favorite content or albums or even videos and then allows you to access it from anywhere in the world with internet. But if you make the right use of social bookmarking sites you can certainly drive a lot of targeted traffic to your site or blog.

Another important aspect of social bookmarking is tagging. You see when a search engine shows search results it is not always pertinent to what you were searching for but with tagging you get results based on the decisions made by people like you and me and not some computer algorithm. You find results as others tagged them.

We would try to learn how to drive traffic to your site using social bookmarking.

Let us first try to understand the term tag. Well it could be a word or a term that is used to search for any topic on a search engine. There are many bookmarking sites that let you use single worded tags separated with spaces but in case you need to search multiple word tags, it creates problems. You can make use of hyphens or periods between two words to make it a single tag or you can just join the words together to make a single tag.

If you need to drive traffic to your site you would need to post your webpages on each one of the major social bookmarking sites. It would surely take some effort but it would be worth it.

Free Social Bookmarking - Mutually Benefiting Way to Share Web Resources

People are on to these social networking sites for various reasons. From providing a platform to locating long lost friends who might be registered users of Facebook, orkut or twitter or similar sites that bring people together to helping provide platforms for sharing and propagation of social thought, ideas and action at national and international levels through forums and discussion boards, social networking is gaining pace. And the new linkages that people create between themselves mostly to share thoughts and ideas of common interests and tastes sometimes pave way to long lasting and productive relationships.

The sudden spurt of interest in socialization on the internet among all has given rise to so many social networking sites on the net. One of the chief advantages of social networking is that people from diverse groups and backgrounds meet in a common place and share common interests over the net nullifying the physical distance between to users. The social networking idea has also permeated into the sphere of bookmarking, some thing we commonly do on our browser window to get back to the site or the page when ever later we want to.

As much as we are prone to create a clutter around us, we also clutter the computer we use. We make copies of the same file on multiple drives by mistake or create multiple folders under the same name in different drives, and so on and end up searching endlessly for it. The choices are endless.

For once, let use assume that computers were so designed that the user of the PC or laptop also had to manage the computer's memory manually - think about the possibilities - it could be total unearthly chaos. That is why there are system tools like disk defragmenter that sets right the memory space in the disc drives and stacks it order by providing optimal space to the existing software and applications and by creating more space for new installations. Similarly, most internet users might also be in the habit of bookmarking the websites or adding to favorites, which also creates a clutter over a short period of time. And we usually end up searching the entire list of bookmarks to get to the one we want to. But with the advent of the new free social bookmarking sites, internet users have one thing less to worry about - about how to manage or organize your bookmarks. Getting started is easy - you can Google search for free social bookmarking sites and find one of your choice - just to get started and get a feel of things. You would be prompted to register with the free social bookmarking site and a tag icon would be added to your browser toolbar. What happen then is, every time you want to bookmark a page all you have to do click on the tag icon which will carry forward the link to your registered page on the free social bookmarking site. Say your tag is 'Macroeconomics' - and every time you add a similar link under the same tab, it gets arranged in order on your free social bookmarking page. As the free social bookmarking sites are in the public domain, any registered user or a non-registered user entering the free social bookmarking site to search for links related to 'macroeconomics' is sure to come across all the links you had collected over a period of time under the same tag; similarly, with other titles, keywords and tags. Free social bookmarking is a very mutually benefiting way to share web resources.

Designing Your Own Squidoo Web Page 1

Squidoo.com is a powerful social networking site which you can join for free. Many home based marketers have found that they can generate an income from Squidoo which means that you expending your time - not your money. A highly appealing formula for many who are just getting started with making money on the internet.

This series of SUCCESS WITH SQUIDOO articles is designed to give you what you need to make money with Squidoo in particular. So here we go...

In this article we look at selecting a topic for your first Squidoo web page.

1. HOW TO FIND A TOPIC FOR YOUR SQUIDOO LENS ?

Incidentally web pages at Squidoo.com are called lenses. The singular is lens. And the webmasters (you and me because we have our own web pages at Squidoo) are called lensmasters. Instead of Google's PageRank, they have lensrank.

Now that we've got a few definitions on the table, let's get started with finding a topic for your great new lens.

If you don't have anything in mind, such as a hobby or a cause you are passionate about or a product you want to take to the world, then you can always visit Wikipedia.com for inspiration.

Wikipedia has nearly 2 million articles covering a huge range of topics. Their main subject categories are:

Reference

Art and culture

Geography and places

Health and fitness

History and events

Mathematics and abstractions

Natural sciences and nature

People and self

Philosophy and thinking

Religion and belief systems

Social sciences and society

Technology and applied sciences

By selecting a category you're interested in and then drilling down, you will find both a topic you'd like to create your Squidoo lens about - and a handful of good information to get you started.

AN EXAMPLE OF THIS

Say you are interested in Health and fitness. One of the sub-categories in that list is Positive mental health, and that list includes Positive psychology. That's an example of how to find a topic by drilling down in Wikipedia.

By the way, don't just straight copy what you read at Wikipedia or anywhere else for that matter. Instead use it as source material for your own unique original articles.

This article series continues...

Designing Your Own Squidoo Web Page 2

In the first article in this series, we looked at the important question "How to find a topic for your Squidoo lens?"

This time we cover another basic but very important topic:

2. HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT KEYWORDS ?

This involves several steps.

Firstly I suggest you simply just jot down the obvious words that you already know about.

If the subject of your lens is Positive Psychology, then that's one key phrase already. For your topic, there may be many more obvious keywords or key phrase.

A few examples that come to my mind as I write:

Positive thinking Positive thoughts Think positively Be motivated Power of positive thinking

Secondly, you can take any of the expressions in your first list and enter them into a keyword tool such as Overture or GoodKeywords. Both of them are free and you will find them through Google, but personally I prefer freekeywords.wordtracker.com

Type in the expression "positive psychology". You will already know to exclude the quote marks and it doesn't matter if you write in upper or lower case or Capital Case because search engines are not usually case sensitive.

WordTracker will give you up to 100 of the top search results, along with the daily estimated search volume. Positive psychology is at the top of the list with 194 searches per day. That's 5820 per month, if we multiply by 30 days.

Ideally you want to select keywords that are searched for between 2000 and 50,000 times per month. Various writers suggest different numbers here so don't worry too much about the numbers. The basic idea is to avoid the highly competitive phrases and also avoid the ones where hardly anybody is interested. Both kinda obvious, right?

Do step 2 for all the expressions you found in step 1. Then you'll be ready to get cracking on the content of your lens. Stay tuned...

Why Social Bookmarking is Dead

I'm fairly new to the affiliate and internet marketing game as I've only been doing it for a year and a half, but in my time I have seen some tremendously effective tools and processes, and some monumental changes in what work and what doesn't.

Since most of my business is based around building websites and getting 'organic' traffic from Google (also known as SEO marketing) I like to keep abreast of any new developments in the search engine's algorithm (the thing that calculates which sites rank where) and what works and what doesn't. Around March 2009 I bought a tool called Bookmark Demon, which lets you socially bookmark a page that you have made (whether it be a blog post, a simple website or a content-filled domain) to around 100 sites.

This tool worked great because it let you do it anonymously and quickly, with only a few captcha images to fill in at the start. The best part was that you simply filled in all of your login information for each site at the start, and then you could bookmark almost unlimited sites from then on.

For a few months I saw great results with my sites, and had many of my pages ranking in the top 5 for fairly competitive search terms without much work at all. The sites that I were building were fairly basic, and apart from one page of content only had a privacy policy and a page of terms and conditions. Fast forward to the end of 2009 and I have tried running the exact same process with nowhere near the same levels of results. It seems that Google has finally cracked on to tools such as these, and has put an end to the fun.

Don't Get Duped By Social Bookmarking Scammers - Tips

One of the results of our ever evolving digital world's Internet architecture is the network methodology called social bookmarking, which basically allows different online users to not only save their favorite bookmarks and Web pages using appropriate keywords and phrases to categorize them for later retrieval, but also allows them to create a social network by sharing their bookmarked websites and Web pages, making it easier for other Internet users to find Web content that are similar to another's site through the use of the tagged social bookmarked sites that they can link to. Basically, social bookmarking has provided online users with a new method of communicating with others online, of creating networks with other online users, and of socializing with other consumers and individuals online, which can help attract online attention to your site.

Unfortunately, even these new social bookmarking sites are not safe from online scammers out there who are simply waiting to dupe unsuspecting online users, especially those individuals who are easily trusting, and possess the necessary knowledge and skills to avoid such social bookmarking scams from happening. Although you cannot prevent social bookmarking scammers from taking advantage of you, you can, however, avoid these situations from happening to you by taking a few things into consideration.

Social Bookmarking Scams

One thing that you need to look out for, which is one of the more common social bookmarking scams online, is the use of spamming by said scammers. Spamming can easily plague emails, blogs, and more importantly, social bookmarking sites due to the fact that this type of site can link one bookmarked website to the next, which is what made social bookmarking an important marketing tool for any individual whose aim is to give their website omnipresence, making it visible and very easy to find in the Internet. By simply linking to other website's bookmarked sites, scammers will be able to gain access to these online users' websites very easily, making it easier for them to send them spams in their emails, blogs and so many other applications.

Social bookmarking scammers must initially register with a social bookmarking site before they can pretty much do anything in order to be able to build a network of links online to help them spread their spam mails in the Internet faster and more efficient. Once they are registered using a fake account, they will then begin sending spam emails once they have linked to other websites, flooding other online user's emails and blogs in their accounts. Keep in mind that links between one site to the next opens up a lot of potential victims for the social bookmarking scammer, which is why social bookmarking sites are very conducive for scammers online, since a lot of people can easily find their sites without that much effort.

Some form of social bookmarking scams involve luring people to their websites, and asking for some personal information from them, such as credit card numbers and accounts, which the scammer will use to get money from them. This can happen, especially if the site created by the scammer contains a web content that you may be interested in, and requires you to input said information before you can access it.

It is important to remember, especially in the vast world of cyberspace, that being vigilant and well-informed about things can help prevent such scams from happening to you.

Experiment with the other options. See what each of them does. If you're not sure anytime, use the default settings - that's a good rule of thumb with this sort of thing.

For frequency of updates, I'd suggest several times a day. Either 6 hours or 12 hours.

Step 6. Click Save.

Step 7. If you don't like what you see, or if you just want to try the other options, click on Edit again (as in step 5). Continue until you're a happy lensmaster. Then scroll to the top of the page and click Publish and when it's published click on 'View this page' to see your handiwork.

Now that wasn't hard, was it?

You have produced a lens (a website) that gets automatically updated with fresh content every 6 hours, or whatever frequency setting you chose. Nice work. Come back tomorrow and add something new to your lens.

The Best Social Bookmarking Strategy

When it comes to Website Marketing, using Social Media is key. With the recent rise of Social Media sites, Marketing your Website has become an ever changing business, adapting to new Technologies and techniques as they arrive. It is more important now than ever to have a Strategy and Plan in place before you set out on any Website Marketing ventures. Using a Social Bookmarking Strategy can and will save you time and money.

So what is the best Social Bookmarking Strategy for marketing your Website? Well, I have no idea what the BEST one is - that completely depends on how that word is defined, but I can share with you the strategy that I personally use to market my Websites that has proven to be a success for me.

First, I create account profiles at all of the social bookmarking Websites that I want to include in my Social Bookmarking Strategy. This can be a tedious and time consuming task, so if you have the funds do yourself a favor and buy some automation software to speed up the process for you.

Once that is complete I social bookmark the main page of my site with a Keyword Rich Title. I focus my time on one Keyword at a time, so choose just 1 Keyword to market for now (I personally recommend using Keyword Finding Software to find money making Keywords that are low competition and high converting. Never underestimate the power of the Keyword Research process). Also include your Keyword Phrase in your Tags and choose tags that are popular and relevant to your site.

Now that you have Bookmarked your main page at all the various Bookmarking Websites it is time to move on to bookmarking all sites that are linking to yours. These can be other Websites that you own, or sites of friends, family, link trading partners, etc. Be sure you bookmark the page on their site that is pointing back to yours, as that is what helps Google and other Search Engines find your Site.

The next thing I usually do in my Social Bookmarking Strategy is make a Web 2.0 Property. I personally prefer Squidoo Lenses over any others. Simply go to Squidoo, make an account and post content from your site onto the personal Squidoo Lens page. Include at least one link on your page that points back to your main Website. Also, be sure to anchor the link with the Keyword Phrase you have chosen.

Once you have made your Web 2.0 property that points back to your site it's time to Bookmark it. Repeat the same process you did with submitting your main Website and submit your Squidoo Lens to the Bookmarking Websites with a Keyword Rich title, description and popular tags.

If you want to go the extra mile you can also bookmark any RSS Feed Profiles or Article Profile pages you may have created that link back to your Site. In short, bookmark anything and everything that links to your Site. The easier you make it for Google and other Search Engines to find your site with the Keyword you chose, the faster and higher it will rank in the search engine results.

Can You Digg it? Using Share Sites to Expand Brand Recognition

If you have a new website to share, or wish to get updates and news out to the masses, then using websites that share information from third parties is a really easy way to get noticed. Websites such as Digg, Now Public, Newsvine and Reddit are all great ways to highlight your own original content, spread the word and, of course, generate free traffic.

To do this you simply head to the websites mentioned and follow prompts to create an account. Using Digg as an example, you simply sign up to their site which is free of charge and then take the URL or website address of the page or content you wish to publicize and "Digg it". This is a term that has been borrowed from popular culture; the phrase to dig it means to like something. You're telling an open audience that you like the content and that it's worth them taking their time to read it. You can also ask family or friends to Digg your content as well. This way it will have a higher count and become one of the better listed options - but do take care not to overdo this and appear as a spammer.

Always make sure that the content you submit though is good quality and something that people would actually want to read and find interesting. Submitting low quality content is counter productive and, in fact, it's a waste of your time and energy. Taking the example of Digg again, this is because just as readers can "digg" your article, and give it a "thumbs up", they can also "thumb it down" by clicking in the "bury" button instead. By providing good quality content you are doing your bit to promote both your site and best practice in search engine marketing.

Alternatively you can add Digg source code to your pages on your website or on your blog. This means that anyone who visits your site can click on the icon and "Digg" your page themselves. A combination of both the above options will give you the best chance of creating a high Digg rate. With this your article is listed on the website for visitors to see. Broken into categories, they can visit the suitable page and see a link to your article along with the number of users who like it. There are several plug-ins for blogs which enable you to do this for Digg as well as many other social sharing or social bookmarking sites.

Using these "social share" sites allows potential consumers to find information about your site or service using essentially unrelated website sources. It can be another valuable tool in your search engine marketing arsenal.

Designing Your Own Squidoo Web Page 4

We've been talking about how to succeed with Squidoo. In the earlier articles, we've covered * how to find a topic for your Squidoo lens, *how to find the right keywords and *where to use your keywords (or tags, as Squidoo calls them).

This article is about content.

4. WHAT CONTENT SHOULD YOU INCLUDE IN YOUR LENS?

USEFUL - Certainly your content needs to be useful. In July 2007, Squidoo started to crack down on spammy lenses. To be candid, I have not seen any that I would regard as junk sites. Sure, a few that were unimpressive but none that I rejected as rubbishy.

However, apparently they exist and now lensmasters have a way to report spammy sites. The big lesson here is: provide quality content and you will not only avoid being reported, you will be offering value to your visitors and therefore the algorithm that decides on your lensranking will be more likely to cheer you onwards and upwards.

AUTO-UPDATING - Squidoo provides a handful of modules that update automatically for you. A very nice feature which gives your lens some freshness without any effort from you.

Well, once it's set up, anyway. And that is easy in most cases - except that the very first time you do anything it can seem a bit complex and we can tend to say "How will I ever be able to do that in 3 minutes?" Don't worry. Squidoo is about as easy as it can get. So don't give up. If something seems a bit tricky, ask for help at Squidu.com - they're a friendly bunch over there.

MODULES - Based on my current level of knowledge I'd recommend you add the eBay, Amazon and RSS modules. They are easy to do. You do not need to be a member of eBay or Amazon as the profits go to Squidoo and are shared out to members in the following period.

RSS feeds might be a little more challenging if you're new so we will deal with them in another article. Look out for "Using RSS Feeds at Squidoo Explained Simply".

Experiment with adding modules. You can't break anything so fiddle around. Add stuff. Publish your lens. See what it looks like. Practice editing your content. Publish again. Delete a module.

What I am saying is try out the possibilities. Another great way to learn about content is to visit other top listed lenses and see what they're doing. Actually that is a brilliant idea. Off you go.

We'll get together for the next article a bit later...

Profitable Social Bookmarking - Making Social Marketing Work for You through Backlinks and Relevant

The concept behind social bookmarking is simple--users add links to their favorite sites in an online repository which can be accessed by other users as well. The links are arranged by topics so that users can easily find sites that are suitable for their needs.

Social bookmarking is a viral form of advertising. The potential for a site to reach millions is unlimited because word-of-mouth advertising's results can be exponential in growth. If you have a website, this is one opportunity you should not ignore. Profitable social marketing is possible when done correctly.

You can start by adding links to top social bookmarking sites in your own site's list of outside links. At the same time, add your own site to the list of links of these social bookmarking sites. By doing backlinking, you're adding more exposure to your site, which translates to more visitors. It is also good step towards search engine optimization (SEO) because search engines give value to backlinks when ranking sites.

However, social bookmarking only works of your site is interesting and full of relevant content. The more people love your site, the more they will link to it. You can only do so much when it comes to having your links posted in social bookmarking sites. But if your site is deemed worthwhile by other site owners, they'll even be the ones to ask permission from you to link to your site. Before you know it, your site will be one of the most visible in its category.

Does Bookmarking Demon Work?

The headline is a question well worth over a million dollars. It was the very first question I asked myself the first time I saw it. There is really no harm in giving it a go, I said to myself. Everyone wants to make it online, and in this age of competitive marketing, where marketers are daily looking for new means of promoting their sites, where the man in front must watch his back to see if competitors are about catching up, I must put it to test!

Bookmarking Demon software is one of the most active social bookmarking software I have seen in recent times. Built to help you build backlinks and increase the ranking of your site. The software ensures you get the best out of social booking which is one of the most difficult things to do. When I say it is one of the most difficult things to do, I mean every word of it.

How It Works

First, you have to download the Bookmarking software, install, and create your business account, and to complete the whole set up task, you get your bookmarks tagged. Tagging your bookmarks is the most sensitive part of the set up objective. I say this because when internet users enter search for your tags, they stumble at your bookmarks. The story does not end when they stumble at your bookmarks, they develop interest in the topic you have for them, click on your site link, and your site can start counting gains.

Doing All the Dirty Jobs

Bookmarking Demon was built with you in mind. For that very busy individual who is always busy, posting bookmarks every time can be a tough task. The solution is in this software. Each time I go online, I find out how using this program has helped my site post only bookmarks that are relevant to what I want. The interesting part of it is that, it limits my post to only social sites that rate among the best in terms of targets.

Every organization worth its name treats spammers like leppers. Bookmarking Demon [http://bookmarking-demon.com] is a program that hates spammers. It practically closes any such account and ensures that any link that belongs to a spammer is wiped out from your site.

How To Use Social Bookmarking To Drive Traffic

When Internet was still in the "infant" stage 10 years ago, someone had the great idea of using bookmarks or placeholders for websites that we had visited and enjoyed. It was a fantastic and easy way for us to remember and keep track of sites.

Now in the era of Web 2.0, people also has this great idea of sharing those "bookmarked" sites with our friends. This is what we call social bookmarking. So, how can you, as an internet marketer use social bookmarking to drive more traffic to your website?

Any web pages can be bookmarked. So, right now, any web page can be shared with friends as well. We can use social bookmarking as a technique to drive traffic. Yes, the idea is to get readers who visit your website to bookmark it and share it with other people too.

Of course, people can also email the links to their friends. But this is deem too "tedious" for most people. They had to log-in to their email accounts and send it to their friends. Require some work and not really user-friendly to recommend websites.

Fortunately, the entire blog community has simpler way to share great links with other people. There are many tools online that are very easy for readers to share links to your site. If you are using a WordPress blog, there are many plug-in that provide you with a "share this" link with every entry you posted.

Another method is to add your website to the major social bookmarking sites such as Technorati, Digg, Del.icio.us, StumbleUpon etc. Such social bookmarking sites also allows readers to post reviews too, therefore allow other people to find your site much easier too.

So if you can provide good information on your websites or blogs, and place it on a social bookmarking site, you can attract new floods of visitors and drive more traffic to your site that you never thought possible!

Get High Quality One-Way Links With Pligg Submissions

The evolution of the Internet as a means for conducting business and making transactions has seen a tremendous growth over recent years. Many independent professionals, entrepreneurs and small business owners have plunged into the online business world and made a name for themselves, addressing either a local audience or a global one. The good news is that there is still a lot of money to be made using the Internet as a means of either setting up an online business or advertising for your existing commercial activity. However, as we all know, reaching the targeted audience and getting the message out there is of the utmost importance. And when it comes to online marketing, getting high quality traffic and one-way links to your web site is vital. This can be achieved in a number of ways, all of which fall under the large category of search engine optimization services.

One way of getting high quality one-way links to your web site, whose efficiency has already been proven, is Pligg submission. For those of you who are not familiar with Pligg sites, you should know that these sites are communities dedicated to social voting, which are very similar to social bookmarking sites in all aspects, except for their size. Pligg sites are social media sites that can be created by anyone who wants to build a community around a specific area and target a particular audience. At this point, Pligg sites are among the fastest and most effective ways of launching a new social media website.

Going back to search engine optimization and the part that Pligg submission plays in it, you should also know that links are submitted to Pligg sites and users vote for them according to their preference. This translates into exposure and visibility, which results in one-way links to your site.

However, as you might have guessed, there's also a catch to Pligg submission. Thousands of sites are already being powered by this open source content management system. Most Pligg sites are not worth submitting to, as their future is questionable at most. As with all the other submissions that help drive traffic and improve your site's rankings, such as social bookmarking submission, web directory submission, article submission, etc., Pligg submit must be carefully performed. It usually takes a SEO expert to be able to tell which are the best Pligg sites where submission really pays off. Moreover, this SEO tool will only work to your advantage if submission is done manually and to a couple hundred Pligg sites.

Pligg submit is also a very efficient way for a newly-developed web site to be indexed within a shorter time frame. Furthermore, Pligg submission is a very good linking strategy, as it allows the building of links for the inner pages, also known as deep links. This eventually translates into better rankings with the major search engines.

Fast Social Bookmarking -- Social Bookmarking as a Wise Alternative to Generate Traffic

Social Bookmarking is drawing a lot of attention and recognition from a lot of people nowadays because of its capability to generate tremendous traffic to a site. With its gaining popularity to users, with new registrants, it was seen to be potentially a good mechanism to drive traffic to a site. I have revealed below some ways on how you can utilize social bookmarking sites to generate traffic on your site.

o With social bookmarking, it allows you to generate traffic for free. What marketers should do is to register to any of the social sites that will allow you to publish and make your site publicly available. This in return allows for your site to be open to possible and prospective clients.

o With social bookmarking you can actually have numerous bookmarks on your own account. This means that with social bookmarking, you can make your advertising material be "marked" and be recognized to as many registrants.

o With social bookmarking, you can also ask your friends or your relatives or someone you know to bookmark your site and this allow for your site to be crawling, thus being bookmaked too, by the people attached with those who bookmarked you site. In effect, this works like a viral marketing where a single action to make the advertising crawl affects a lot of people.

o With social bookmarking, you can make your account shown publicly or privately. This is a good chance for marketers or advertisers who are making specific modifications on their advertising materials. They can actually switch on/off their advertisement as how the necessity dictates.
