Any well established online marketer knows the that the power of social bookmarking sites can do for promotion of your product/service. Sites such as 'Digg' and 'Reddit' are well respected by Google and Alexa. Here we will stick with Digg, as it is my personal favorite.
The way you as an internet marketer can use this to your advantage is by both creating back links to your website and directly generating traffic from the user base of Digg. There is also the possibility that your submission will get picked up by Google for page one display (yes you heard me).
Firstly, go to Digg's website and sign up if you do not already have an account. Then go through the new submission process. It will give you the choice of an article or video. If you are looking to drive traffic to your website, simply input your website URL into this box. You are also given the chance to choose a title for your submission. Now this is very important, you must choose a title that is keyword rich and highly relevant to where you intend to direct traffic to (make sure the keywords are well researched too).
Finally Digg may ask you "are you sure your submission is original", of course providing it is then proceed without hesitation. Once your done it may take an hour or more to go live, but once it is, it is out there. Providing you have chosen a good relevant title and your content is good, you should start to see this submission generating you regular traffic and in turn possible conversions.
It may be necessary to make weekly submissions with different titles, so you can dominate a number of relevant keywords in your niche
